A big key to success in concessions is having a unique aspect to your food that keeps customers coming back. Another important aspect is keeping your concessions business standing. This starts with quality fire suppression systems. To consider just what can happen when you cover all your bases, examine a recent article for Onward State titled “New Food At THON Energizing Participants In New Ways.”
Matt Coleman of Onward State writes, “Standing for 46 hours can not only take a toll on your legs, but also your stomach. Luckily, the concessions at THON recognize the need for a quality meal throughout the 46 hours. This year, THON added some new menu choices to its concession stands which are sure to energize those participating in the stands and on the floor. The first thing you’ll be able to find this year at the BJC Concessions is the double decker burger. Sure to fill up even the strongest hunger, the double decker burger comes loaded with a burger, pulled pork, chicken tenders, and cheese all squeezed between a hearty bun. It’s one of the most expensive items in the BJC at $12, but the guy running the stand told me it’s well worth the money. I’m inclined to believe him on that. Packing three different types of meats into a burger is a bold move that will surely pay off for the BJC Concessions. Adding onto the introduction of pulled pork to THON, pulled pork nachos ($8) also make an appearance on the BJC Concessions menu. Although the traditional nachos and cheese are a common favorite concession food, adding pulled pork to the mix really sends this menu choice over the top. Even with these new additions to the menu, THON still has traditional favorites such as stir fry, burgers, and regular nachos to satisfy your hunger. The new additions definitely spice up the THON 2016 menu though.”
