Lehigh Valley Food Truck Festival

Food trucks are becoming more and more of a commonplace sighting. The May 14 event will be held in two sessions at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown. More than 20 vendors will sell a variety of options, including sweet selections from Cinnamini Donuts and OMG Smoothies and savory items from Chick N Cone, Stuffed to the Grills and Vince's Cheesesteaks. Jon Schaeffer, vice president of media and communications for Lehigh Valley IronPigs, says, ‘It's just the right venue for such an event. It just makes sense for both parties. We have the space to do it and they have the trucks to do it.’ The event will also feature craft beer, live music and family activities. It will be sold in two sessions: noon to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. The first session is family-friendly and will feature appearances by IronPigs mascots and unlimited access to the Red Robin Kids Zone, a playground area that also features inflatable games. The second session is open only to those ages 21 and older. Music will be supplied by local music acts Tim Harakal from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m., as well as Colour Sound from 1 to 3 p.m. and Kyle Baker from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets, $15 for adults and $10 for ages 12 and under, include a $5 food voucher that can be redeemed at any food truck during the festival. VIP tickets are $20 for adults and allow for one-hour early entry to either session (11 a.m. for Session One and 4 p.m. for Session Two).”
